Who we are

When SORT BLAEK opened in 2013, the place was both a gallery for aspiring artists and a tattoo studio. The original idea was to create a space where artists could share experiences and learn to work with different types of materials and techniques.

Over the first few years, the tattoo side of the business gradually took over, and today tattoos are the primary focus at SORT BLAEK. As the name suggests, the material we work with is... black ink. (The name SORT BLAEK directly translates to "black ink" in Danish – “sort” meaning “black” and “blaek” meaning “ink”). We do occasionally use a bit of color, but that happens rarely.

SORT BLAEK is founded and operated by Sigrid Benedikte Strøyer.
